Hundreds of Child Advocates Learn at Collaborate's National Online Training

When the annual International Symposium on Child Abuse was canceled amid the pandemic, the Collaborate team took their scheduled in-person training online.

The Collaborate team had planned to be out in force at the 37th International Symposium on Child Abuse in March 2020. Along with two booths to interact with attendees, a special day-long Collaborate National Training was on tap as well.

Then the COVID-19 pandemic hit. The Symposium, along with so many other events this year, was smartly cancelled (fingers crossed for 2021!).

Undeterred, Collaborate developers, analysts, trainers, and support staff decided to take their training online. A bonus was that many more Users from across the country could attend the online event - and they showed up in great numbers. Over 400 child advocates from more than 100 CACs took part in the event, which covered topics like:

  • Working remotely with Collaborate,
  • Staying secure and customizing the software, and
  • Tips to maintain HIPAA compliance.
