AWS Infrastructure Engineer
We're looking for an AWS Infrastructure Engineer to join our 100% remote (work from home) infrastructure team. Experience with Linux, containers, and AWS is required.
Network Ninja is a fully remote software firm that develops products leading their respective industries. We’re a small company (just over 50 employees), but we work on big, impactful projects. Come work with us!
Intro and Summary
We’re building AI-powered products fast, and our infrastructure team is scaling to keep pace. We need another AWS engineer.
You’ll join our existing infrastructure team, working alongside our existing infrastructure engineers to build, maintain, and secure our AWS environments. A significant part of your work will be supporting our product teams and our AI/ML team as they ship new products and capabilities across our platform. If you’re interested so far, please read the rest of the req in its entirety, and follow the instructions contained within to apply.
Responsibilities, Requirements, and Job Concepts
We run container-based applications on ECS behind ALBs, manage configuration with Ansible, and deploy infrastructure with CloudFormation. You will need to be comfortable with Linux, containers, and the AWS ecosystem in general.
- Linux systems administration
- Experience supporting container-based applications (Docker/ECS)
- Infrastructure as code (CloudFormation, Ansible)
- Experience working with the AWS command line interface
- Experience with Git
Our build and deployment pipelines run on CodeBuild and CodeDeploy, backed by RDS Aurora Serverless and S3 with CloudFront.
- Experience with build and deployment pipelines (CodeBuild/CodeDeploy)
- RDS/PostgreSQL administration
- IAM, VPC, security groups, and networking fundamentals
Our monitoring system is in AWS managed Grafana workspaces, and we use PagerDuty for escalations, though being paged is not a routine part of this role.
- CloudWatch for logging and monitoring
- Strong documentation skills
- Comfortable working with minimal supervision in a 100% remote, task-oriented environment
Security and compliance
Some of our products serve law enforcement, prosecutors, and children’s advocacy centers, and are subject to FBI CJIS Security Policy requirements. This is a standard requirement for organizations that handle criminal justice information.
- Candidates must be willing to undergo a background check, including a state and FBI fingerprint-based criminal history check, as a condition of employment
- A criminal record does not automatically disqualify candidates from consideration
- Familiarity with HIPAA and SOC 2
Network Ninja is HIPAA compliant and audited annually for both HIPAA and SOC 2 Type 2. Our security officer is on the infrastructure team, so security and compliance are a core part of the team’s work, not an afterthought.
General details
The position is full-time, remote, and open to U.S. citizens living and working in the United States. The annual rate of pay is $110k to $140k, depending on experience. We provide hardware and software as needed.
