LegalServer to Power Public Defense Throughout Idaho

The Idaho Office of the State Public Defender is working with the LegalServer team on a statewide software implementation.

In 2022, Idaho legislation transformed the state’s model of public defense away from a county-led model into a state-led system. Governor Brad Little subsequently appointed Eric D. Fredericksen as State Public Defender (SPD), who expeditiously sought a statewide case management suite to handle thousands of cases annually for indigent defendants and juveniles.

After an exhaustive search, Fredericksen and his team chose LegalServer.

The Idaho State Public Defender is excited to partner with LegalServer as its case management system. Our discussions have led to an innovative approach to case management that will allow our attorneys to focus more time and energy in serving the needs of our clientele.

“We believe LegalServer’s focus on the needs of public defense along with its dedication, capabilities, and willingness to think and work outside the box will take the public defense to the next level in the State of Idaho,” Fredericksen says.

The new system will be live by the end of 2024 - get the full story on LegalServer’s website.
